Fortunately, God has given us promises from His word to live by. We can either live by our problems or we can live the promises of God.\n\nAs a pastor, Mark Stewart would send out by email one promise from the Bible each week for his congregation to live by. This went world-wide and is now an app for others to enjoy.\n\nThe Encouraging Word is based on Numbers 11:23. It is easy to be discouraged and doubt that God’s promises are true but we have what God said to Moses when he doubted: The Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.”\n\nWithin a few days of spending time in this devotions, you should see your spirit lifted and experience new joy, encouragement, and strength to enjoy the life God has given to you!","facts":{"developer_id":1339362649,"developer_url":"http://www.encouragingwordapp.com/download","first_released":"2018-02-01T05:23:01Z","support_url":null,"privacy_url":null,"website_url":null,"app_version":"1.3","release_notes":"Some updates to the daily devotionals","rating_current_version":4.90282,"rating_count_current_version":3231,"star_counts":null,"genres":["Books","Lifestyle"],"languages":["EN"],"content_advisories":null,"device_families":null,"chart":null},"freshness":{"apple_read_at":"2026-10-18T07:27:11.699Z","catalog_read_at":null,"reviews_checked_at":null,"summary_written_at":null,"placed_at":"2026-10-18T08:15:32.056Z","scored_at":"2026-10-21T07:52:13.142Z"},"editorial":null,"memberships":[{"list":"devotional-reading","list_name":"devotional reading","list_status":"active","list_url":"https://apptierlist.com/best/devotional-reading/","position":43,"tier":null,"score":43.3,"components":{"rating":98.1,"votes":75.1,"rank":0,"recency":0},"status":"active","review_status":"checked","list_ranking_status":"ranked","confidence":"provisional","judged_at":"2026-10-18T08:15:32.056Z"}],"main_list":"devotional-reading","claim":{"status":"none","verified":false,"site_url":null,"verified_via":null,"verified_domain":null},"history":[{"id":175422,"at":"2026-10-19T10:03:11.893Z","kind":"tier_changed","list":"devotional-reading","app_store_id":1339362650,"app":"encouraging-word-1339362650","from":"F","to":null,"reason":"rank shift: #41, below the tiered top 40","job":"rescore"},{"id":160629,"at":"2026-10-18T08:27:11.989Z","kind":"tier_changed","list":"devotional-reading","app_store_id":1339362650,"app":"encouraging-word-1339362650","from":null,"to":"F","reason":"score 43.3","job":"rescore"},{"id":160398,"at":"2026-10-18T08:15:32.056Z","kind":"membership_added","list":"devotional-reading","app_store_id":1339362650,"app":"encouraging-word-1339362650","from":null,"to":"active","reason":"Described as a devotion built around a Bible promise with a pastor's encouragement, meant to lift your spirit and strengthen faith.","job":"shadow"},{"id":159240,"at":"2026-10-18T07:27:11.699Z","kind":"app_added","list":null,"app_store_id":1339362650,"app":"encouraging-word-1339362650","from":null,"to":null,"reason":"discovered","job":"import"}],"explain":{"method":"Membership is decided by a model judging the App Store listing against the list's definition (and its excludes, for memberships placed or rechecked since they were added to the prompt); every verdict is listed with its date; the score is a plain average of the public components an app has (four, plus Apple's Editors' Choice badge as 100 where shown); nothing is purchasable.","lists":[{"list":"devotional-reading","list_name":"devotional reading","status":"active","review_status":"checked","position":43,"tier":null,"score":43.3,"components":{"rating":98.1,"votes":75.1,"rank":0,"recency":0},"ranks":[],"verdicts":[{"verdict":"keep","reason":"Described as a devotion built around a Bible promise with a pastor's encouragement, meant to lift your spirit and strengthen faith.","verifier":"claude-sonnet-5-5","decided_at":"2026-10-18T08:15:32.056Z","attempts":1,"current":true},{"verdict":"keep","reason":"The app delivers devotions built on a weekly Bible promise, written by a pastor to encourage and strengthen faith.
