And the best part is, you don’t need multiple cameras to do it!\n\nFabFocus works on all devices running iOS 12 and forward and uses advanced image recognition to detect people, and intelligently blurring the background, applying beautiful bokeh effects. \n\n————\n\nThe Big 2.0 Update\n\nFabFocus 2.0 is a complete rewrite and redesign, with the goal of making it as fast and simple as possible to make stunning portraits. Every last detail has been considered and refined to streamline the experience.\n\nWe hope you love it as much as we do.\n\n————\n\nFeatures\n\nFabFocus has a lot of different features. Here’s a quick overview.\n\n————\n\nFace Detection\n\nFabFocus will automatically detect faces in your photos, use a little computer magic to work out what’s in the foreground and then intelligently blur the background.\n\nIf a photo contains depth information, that is used that for even faster performance.\n\n————\n\nCamera\n\nFabFocus has its own camera interface, that automatically configures itself for portrait capture on supported devices. \n\n————\n\nEditing Tools\n\nFabFocus has a whole bunch of tools to help you refine your portraits.\n\n• Adjust the amount of blur applied to the background\n\n• Chose the shape of bokeh (even set it to love hearts or stars!)\n\n• Change the brightness and saturation of the foreground and background independently.\n\n• You can also draw to refine the selection of what’s in the foreground, great for tricky situations, or creating portraits of a wide variety of subjects, like pets, plants and more!\n\nWhile editing, you can quickly undo and redo your adjustments, and there are buttons to share and save your photos right away. \n\n————\n\nTake your portraits to the next level with FabFocus\n\n————\n\nFor support, please contact hello@ghostwheel.org","facts":{"developer_id":1468484654,"developer_url":"https://secondverse.org/#/fabfocus/","first_released":"2016-10-19T02:31:47Z","support_url":null,"privacy_url":null,"website_url":null,"app_version":"2.0.1","release_notes":"Added localization for French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, and Thai.\n\nFixed some minor bugs and typos","rating_current_version":4.72124,"rating_count_current_version":5998,"star_counts":null,"genres":["Photo & Video","Lifestyle"],"languages":["EN","FR","DE","IT","JA","ZH","ES","TH"],"content_advisories":null,"device_families":null,"chart":null},"freshness":{"apple_read_at":"2026-10-21T02:04:12.985Z","catalog_read_at":null,"reviews_checked_at":null,"summary_written_at":null,"placed_at":"2026-10-17T05:27:13.395Z","scored_at":"2026-10-21T13:44:13.458Z"},"editorial":null,"memberships":[{"list":"blur-apps","list_name":"blur apps","list_status":"active","list_url":"https://apptierlist.com/best/blur-apps/","position":29,"tier":"D","score":56.5,"components":{"rating":94.3,"votes":78.1,"rank":53.4,"recency":0},"status":"active","review_status":"checked","list_ranking_status":"ranked","confidence":"normal","judged_at":"2026-10-17T05:27:13.395Z"}],"main_list":"blur-apps","claim":{"status":"none","verified":false,"site_url":null,"verified_via":null,"verified_domain":null},"history":[{"id":142281,"at":"2026-10-17T05:38:13.391Z","kind":"tier_changed","list":"blur-apps","app_store_id":1080434313,"app":"fabfocus-portrait-mode-blur-1080434313","from":null,"to":"D","reason":"score 55.1","job":"rescore"},{"id":142148,"at":"2026-10-17T05:27:13.395Z","kind":"membership_added","list":"blur-apps","app_store_id":1080434313,"app":"fabfocus-portrait-mode-blur-1080434313","from":null,"to":"active","reason":"Its core job is blurring the background with adjustable bokeh, including selectable shapes such as hearts and stars, and it is marketed as a portrait mode blur.","job":"shadow"},{"id":128464,"at":"2026-10-16T15:32:54.351Z","kind":"app_added","list":null,"app_store_id":1080434313,"app":"fabfocus-portrait-mode-blur-1080434313","from":null,"to":null,"reason":"discovered","job":"import"}],"explain":{"method":"Membership is decided by a model judging the App Store listing against the list's definition (and its excludes, for memberships placed or rechecked since they were added to the prompt); every verdict is listed with its date; the score is a plain average of the public components an app has (four, plus Apple's Editors' Choice badge as 100 where shown); nothing is purchasable.","lists":[{"list":"blur-apps","list_name":"blur apps","status":"active","review_status":"checked","position":29,"tier":"D","score":56.5,"components":{"rating":94.3,"votes":78.1,"rank":53.4,"recency":0},"ranks":[{"country":"us","rank":21},{"country":"ca","rank":34}],"verdicts":[{"verdict":"keep","reason":"Its core job is blurring the background with adjustable bokeh, including selectable shapes such as hearts and stars, and it is marketed as a portrait mode blur.","verifier":"claude-sonnet-5-5","decided_at":"2026-10-17T05:27:13.395Z","attempts":1,"current":true},{"verdict":"keep","reason":"FabFocus's core purpose is blurring photo backgrounds for a bokeh portrait effect.
