The Today in the Word app gives you fresh daily Bible content, new studies each month on complete books of the Bible or biblical topics. Authored by Moody Bible Institute professors, you’ll find the devotionals easy to read and listen to, but with rich insights that deepen your understanding of each Scripture passage. \n\nBUILD THE HABIT OF DAILY BIBLE READING with the newest version of the app. A “devotional streak” lets you track and improve your habit of regular time in God’s Word. You can select any translation of the Bible you prefer. Each day has a beautiful Bible verse graphic to share. There are additional resources for each month’s topic. \n\nBEST OF ALL, IT IS FREE! There is no charge for any feature of the app which is fully funded by generous readers who believe in the importance of Bible study. By signing up for a free personal account, you can keep your Bible study notes, track completed readings, and save your preferred Bible version. \n\nHere are 5 reasons to make Today in the Word devotional app your #1 choice: \n \n1) GET SMALL, BUT MEATY BITES EVERY DAY \nOne reader writes, “This is spiritual meat, and I am very grateful.” With Today in the Word, you’ll learn more about the Bible. Each day’s devotional can be read or listened to in less than 5 minutes, but the content is rich enough if you want to spend additional time digging into each passage. We study an entire Bible passage, not just a “feel good” thought based on one verse. \n\n2) READ THROUGH THE BIBLE, COVER TO COVER \nHave you read through the entire Bible? With the Today in the Word app, you will study every book of the Bible, even ones that you might not have explored before. We aren’t afraid to tackle the tough stuff! Bible professors make even the most difficult passages understandable and help you walk away with a direct application for your life. \n\n3) GROW IN YOUR FAITH JOURNEY \n“A life changing experience” and “a spiritual revival to my heart”, readers say that this isn’t just about reading the Bible, but letting it change your life! While you may believe that spending regular time in God’s Word strengthens your faith, putting it into practice can be difficult. The app can be used alone or for group study. Each devotional ends with questions that can serve as journal prompts or discussion starters. \n \n4) GET MONTHLY BONUS RESOURCES \n - Watch video interviews with devotional authors \n - Share beautiful Verse-of-the-Day graphics \n - Select your preferred Bible translation \n - Receive push notifications that remind you to read the Bible \n - Record and save your study notes \n - Listen to audio of each devotional \n - Listen to abbreviated or full-length audio of each devotional \n - This app offers push notifications to remind you to read. \n - Track your reading consistency with a “streak”! \n - Join a Facebook devotional discussion group \n\n5) JOIN MORE THAN ONE MILLION READERS! \nToday in the Word readers access the devotional by app, email, audio podcast, and website. We have nearly one million readers in 225 countries who love to spend time in God’s Word. We hope you will join this vibrant community! \n\nAVAILABLE BIBLE TRANSLATIONS \nThe app allows you to select your preferred Bible translation. Choose from NIV, ESV, KJV, NLT and more. Change your translation as often as you would like and save it when you sign up for a free account. \n \nNO HIDDEN CHARGES! \nOur commitment is to provide this Bible resource at no charge for all. We depend on the support of generous readers to meet the financial needs of this ministry.","facts":{"developer_id":586849039,"developer_url":"https://www.todayintheword.org/mobile-apps","first_released":"2020-04-12T07:00:00Z","support_url":"https://www.todayintheword.org/","privacy_url":"https://www.moodybible.org/privacy-policy/","website_url":"https://www.todayintheword.org/mobile-apps","app_version":"2.0.9","release_notes":"What's new:\n• Redesigned Bible picker with one-tap translation switching\n• New universal search across devotionals, verses, and videos\n• Sign in with Apple and Google\n• Refreshed profile and account settings\n• Dark-mode polish and tablet fixes throughout\n• Bug fixes","rating_current_version":4.88239,"rating_count_current_version":12474,"star_counts":[94,44,130,697,11501],"genres":["Lifestyle","Reference"],"languages":["EN"],"content_advisories":["Infrequent/Mild Mature/Suggestive Themes"],"device_families":["iphone","ipad","ipod"],"chart":null},"freshness":{"apple_read_at":"2026-10-22T08:42:13.321Z","catalog_read_at":"2026-10-20T10:49:11.600Z","reviews_checked_at":"2026-10-18T21:00:12.002Z","summary_written_at":"2026-10-16T04:05:51.873Z","placed_at":"2026-10-15T06:14:53.115Z","scored_at":"2026-10-22T05:45:12.679Z"},"editorial":{"one_liner":"Daily Bible devotionals and monthly studies by Moody Bible Institute professors, with reading reminders.","what_is":"The Today in the Word Devotional app provides a fresh daily Bible devotional and new studies each month on complete books of the Bible or biblical topics.
