About AppTierList

AppTierList is an independent map of the App Store. Every iOS app is placed in the use case it serves and ranked S to F against its neighbours, using only public App Store signals. The map is the catalog: nearby countries are related use cases, and the apps inside each one are the tier list.

Why a map

The App Store has 24 genres and two million apps; "Productivity" tells you nothing. People choose apps by what they are trying to do, so the catalog is organised by use case, 55 of them today, and drawn as a map so related ones sit next to each other.

Who makes it

AppTierList is built by an independent iOS developer. Nothing on the site is sponsored, and the ranking is computed, not curated. Read how we rank.
